The present value calculator is essentially the compound interest calculator in reverse. Using the present value calculator, you can determine how much you need to invest in order to achieve the specified value in the future.

Future Value is the amount of money you will have in the future at the end of the period.
The number of years in which you want to achieve the previously specified future value.
Discount Rate is the percentage increase you expect to get on your investment year on year. The average rate for the US stock market is 11% and is considered a gold standard when making estimates. However, keep in mind that 11% does not account for inflation.
